After one month of much Wii playing I can say: Wii is fun, except if you want to stick to a special control scheme.
For example the Need for Speed game series has very different controlling schemes. Need for Speed Nitro supports playing with the gamepad, wii remote racing, but Need for Speed Underground just supports very crazy controlling schemes with wii remote and nunchuk for ex. Tilting the Wiimote for acceleration and stearing with the nunchuk.
If you are playing with the Classic Controler (Pro) you will notice that the "A" button is not as the same place like the "X" button on the Playstation or the "A" button on the Xbox. It is at the "O" button location of the Playstation and on the Xbox controller it would be at the "B" button's location. This drives you crazy because you will ofter press the "B" to go forward but it is actually the back-button then. It wouldn't be as bad if some games turn the buttons around, like Smack Down! vs. Raw 2010 does... there the "B" button is the "ok" button and "A" the back-button...
Nintendo just have checked the controlling schemes of every game... If you buy a racing game you should be able to play with the Wiimote or with a controller like in old times...
